Nose Knows Oy is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, except where another provider, such as our payment reseller, acts as an independent controller for its own processing.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use Forecasted Self, we may process:

• name, email address, organisation, role and other contact information;
• messages, enquiries and customer-support communications;
• account and authentication information;
• responses you submit to the AI Skills Scan, exercises, questionnaires and programmes;
• reports, recommendations and other results generated from your responses;
• order, subscription and transaction information received from our payment provider;
• technical and usage information such as browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited and timestamps;
• cookie and analytics information where you have consented to non-essential analytics;
• campaign information such as referral source and UTM parameters.

Special-category data

We do not intentionally request special-category personal data such as medical information, political opinions, religious beliefs or biometric information. Please do not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information in open-text fields.

3. Why we process personal data

We process personal data to:

• provide the AI Skills Scan, reports, programmes and other services you request;
• create and administer your account;
• communicate with you and provide customer support;
• manage subscriptions, purchases and service access;
• improve the usability, reliability and quality of Forecasted Self;
• maintain security, prevent fraud and investigate misuse;
• understand website usage and campaign effectiveness where analytics consent has been given;
• send research notes, news or marketing communications where you have expressly opted in;
• comply with accounting, tax and other legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the processing activity, we rely on:

Contract: where processing is necessary to provide a service, programme, account or other functionality you have requested.

Legitimate interests: for service security, fraud prevention, customer support, basic service improvement and protecting our legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Consent: for marketing communications and non-essential analytics or cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Legal obligation: where information must be retained or processed to comply with accounting, tax or other applicable laws.

5. AI-assisted and automated processing

Forecasted Self uses or may use artificial intelligence and automated analysis to help interpret assessment responses and produce personalised feedback, skill observations, recommendations or learning suggestions.

Where you interact directly with an AI-enabled feature, we will make the use of AI clear to you.

AI-generated or AI-assisted results are intended to support reflection, learning and development. They may contain errors and should not be treated as guaranteed predictions or professional, legal, medical, financial, recruitment or employment advice.

Forecasted Self does not use your assessment results to make solely automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Where third-party AI service providers are used to generate or analyse content, only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant function is shared with them, subject to appropriate contractual and data-protection safeguards.

6. Payments and Stripe

Online purchases are processed by Stripe, a regulated payment provider. Where full tax-handling applies, taxes are calculated, collected and remitted on our behalf.

Stripe processes payment, billing, tax, fraud-prevention and transaction information under its own privacy terms. We receive the information necessary to fulfil your purchase, administer access, support you and reconcile transactions.

We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.

7. Analytics and cookies

We use essential technologies required for functions such as security, authentication and account access.

Where we use non-essential analytics, including Google Analytics 4, these technologies are activated for users in jurisdictions requiring consent only after the appropriate consent has been obtained.

Analytics may provide us with information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser information, referral source and interaction events.

You can accept or reject non-essential analytics through our cookie controls and can change your choice later using the Cookie settings link in the website footer.

If analytics technologies are removed from the service, this section will be updated accordingly.

8. Recipients and service providers

We may disclose personal data where necessary to service providers supporting Forecasted Self, including providers of:

• website hosting and infrastructure;
• authentication and databases;
• email and workplace services;
• analytics;
• AI-enabled functionality;
• payment, billing and tax services;
• accounting and professional advisory services.

Other disclosures

These providers may process information only for the relevant purposes and under applicable contractual and legal safeguards.

We may also disclose information to public authorities where required by law.

We do not sell personal data.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers operate internationally, and personal data may therefore be processed outside Finland or the European Economic Area.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we use safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. Depending on the destination and provider, these may include:

• a European Commission adequacy decision;
• participation in an approved data-transfer framework where applicable; or
• the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards where required.

10. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected. As a general rule:

• enquiries and support correspondence are retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction;
• account and programme information is retained while your account or customer relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterwards;
• assessment responses and personalised reports are retained while required to provide the service and may thereafter be deleted or anonymised;
• marketing-consent records are retained while consent remains valid and for a reasonable period afterwards to demonstrate compliance;
• accounting and transaction records are retained for the periods required by Finnish law;
• security logs and technical records are retained for limited periods appropriate to security and troubleshooting.

Longer retention

We may retain information longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Anonymised information that no longer identifies an individual may be retained for research, statistical and service-development purposes.

Research use of anonymised answers

Anonymised answers to the AI Skills Scan and the 4-week Sprint may be used for research purposes, including academic research, published statistics and the development of our services.

Anonymisation means that names, email addresses, account identifiers and free-text details that could identify you are removed before the data is analysed or shared, and the results can no longer be traced back to you.

You can ask us to leave your answers out of research use at any time by emailing hello@forecastedself.com. This has no effect on your access to the Scan, the Sprint or any other part of the service.

11. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• access personal data concerning you;
• correct inaccurate data;
• request deletion of data;
• restrict processing;
• receive certain information in a portable format;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• withdraw consent at any time;
• object to direct marketing; and
• lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

Exercising your rights

To exercise your rights, email hello@forecastedself.com. We normally respond to GDPR requests within one month.

If you are in Finland, you may lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi.

Residents of other jurisdictions may also have additional rights under applicable local privacy laws.

12. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data. These include access controls, encrypted communications, authentication measures and restricted administrative access.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

13. Children

Forecasted Self is primarily intended for adults and professional or higher-education contexts. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children where parental or guardian consent would be legally required.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change.

The current version and its effective date will always be published on this page.
